The 1982 volleyball team finished the year with a 19-4 overall record, 10-2 in the conference and were co-MIAA champions. The Scots had to defeat Calvin College in the final league match to earn a share of the championship with the Knights and in doing so, won Alma College's first MIAA Championship in volleyball. The 1982 season was Coach Chiodini's second at Alma College. Elizabeth Black served as the manager and Tim Karr was the trainer. The team was captained by Mindy Meyers '84 and Vickie Schmidt '84. Jill Forhan '84 was named the Team MVP, Kathy Lombardo '86 was named the Most Improved Player and Mindy Meyers '84 won the Dedication Award. The All-MIAA First Team was riddled with Scots as three of the six members wore the Maroon and Cream: Mindy Cubitt '85, Jill Forhan '84 and Dana Johnson '85, who was inducted into the Alma College Hall of Fame as an individual athlete as part of the class of 1999.
