Chris Alexander is an Alma College athlete who had four years (1996-99) of success and is among the most recognized players in the history of men's soccer. Alexander was a member of the two most successful teams in school history and played a big part in their accomplishments.
He was a three-time All-MIAA First Team member (1997-98-99) and was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1999. He was NSCAA All-Region Third Team in 1998 and NSCAA All-Region First Team in 1999.
He was a team captain of the 1998 (2nd Place MIAA, NCAA Tournament) and 1999 (MIAA Champions, NCAA Final Four) teams. Chris recorded 16 career assists during his playing days, which ranks as eighth-most
in school history and his nine assists in 1999 are the second-highest season mark for the program.
He lists his most memorable moment as an athlete as the win at Hope College in 1997.
"I will always remember the 4-3 game at Hope College on the last day of the 1997 season," said Alexander. "The win sealed the conference championship and knocked off our biggest rival. That game got us over the top of the mountain."
He believes his experience as a student-athlete at Alma College prepared him for the competitive landscape of the business world. Beyond the obvious importance of a strong education, he learned the value of building a great team and aligning goals towards a single path.
Upon graduation, Alexander married his college sweetheart Christine (Gutek) Alexander and has worked for the same company since leaving Alma. He is currently the Internal Recruiting Manager for Allegis Group Services, a global recruiting and human capital solutions company. He oversees the daily activity of 20 recruiters worldwide.
He and his wife have two children - daughter Avery and son Wynston. They live in Rochester Hills and enjoy lots of leisurely travel when time allows.
