A member of the Alma College baseball and football teams, Fraser graduated from the college in 1978. He is being inducted as a Distinguished Alumni.

Fraser has been a member of the athletic administration at Bay City Central High School since 1986, and will retire as the school's athletic director – a post he has held since 1998 – in June. Fraser is a member of the Michigan High School Football Association Coaches Hall of Fame, guiding the Bay City Central Wolves for 31 seasons and amassing 200 wins while leading the program to 10 playoff berths, including a state runner up finish in 2004.

Prior to arriving in Bay City, Fraser had coaching stints at Mendon High School and Bowling Green (OH) High School. He was named the regional Coach of the Year in 1977 a Mendon, and earned regional Coach of the Year Honors twice at Bay City, receiving the honor in 1994 and 1996. He was also named the Associated Press' Coach of the Year in Michigan in 1996.

A baseball player for coach Bill Klenk, Fraser remembers the tight-knit baseball team that won the MIAA Championship in 1978 and how the comradery of the squad made going to practice and competing a pleasure. He has always remember coach Klenk's leadership and carried the lessons learned from him on how to handle people into his coaching and teaching career.

"I know the quality of the student-athletes that we have at Alma College," Fraser said, "and I'm extremely humbled to receive this honor."
