Coach Bill Klenk was first inducted into the Alma College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1975 for his achievements as a football, basketball and baseball athlete during his time as a student athlete. As a student athlete Coach Klenk earned seven varsity letters in baseball, basketball and football. In 1958 he earned All-MIAA, All-NAIA, Honorable Mention All-American, and MVP honors for football.

Coach Klenk returned to his alma mater and coached in various capacities for 22 years. During his tenure as the head of the baseball program Coach Klenk had an overall record of 283-288-2 and led the Scots to MIAA Championships in 1973, 1974, 1978,  1980, 1981, 1983 and 1987. Coach Klenk also led the Men’s and Women’s basketball programs.  Coach Klenk ran the Men’s Basketball program from 1967-1978 and ended with a 122-94 overall record and an MIAA championship in the1977-78 season. He led the Women’s Basketball program from 1985-1987 where he had a record of 44-8 and led the Scots to two MIAA Championships losing only two games in that span in the MIAA.

The Alma College baseball facility, one of the premier Division III baseball parks, was build with his contribution and support and named in his honor. Play began at Klenk Park in 1999.

Klenk passed away on August 1, 2020 at the age of 83.
