Jason Passalacqua is being inducted into the Alma College Hall of Fame Class of 2013 after a very productive and successful career inmen's soccer at the school. He was a two-time All-MIAA First Team selection in 1997 and 1998 and was a part of the 1997 team that qualified for the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament.
Passalacqua was an NSCAA Third Team All-American selection in 1998. He was also honored as NSCAA All-Region First Team in 1998 and NSCAA All-Region Second Team in 1997. In addition, Passalacqua who played defense, was selected All-MIAA First Team in 1997 and 1998 after being honored as All-MIAA Second Team in 1995 and 1996. He was also a member of the baseball team.
"Being a student-athlete at Alma was a great experience for me," said Passalacqua. "I was able to play soccer at a competitive level while being challenged academically at the same time. Playing sports kept me focused. I am very proud of what we accomplished in a short period of time."
Passalacqua lists making the 1997 NCAA Tournament as his most memorable athletic moment at Alma College. He looks back fondly at gathering at Coach Frey's house and hearing the announcement together as a team.
Since graduating, Jason has lived in Indiana, Texas and for the last 10 years, Rhode Island. He has been the owner of Gents Inc. for the past six years, a full spa for men located in Cranston, RI. In addition, he has a brick and mortar store and a shaving line called GBS and e-commerce site.
Jason is very proud of his mom and dad, Sam and Sue. He believes they always encouraged him throughout his playing sports and his other accomplishments. He is very proud of his wife Kristie, who he calls the most intelligent person he knows and is proud of her for being such a successful attorney and mother. Jason is also grateful for her support in starting his business and going after his dream.
He has been married to Kristie for seven years and they have a daughter, Addison. They enjoy traveling and Jason still plays soccer once a week on an indoor team.
