  • Served as the superintendent for Alma Public Schools for many years and was also a professor at Alma College where he was selected as a distinguished professor in natural sciences multiple times. Phillips also served as the Director of Alumni Affairs at the College and received the Order of the Tartan Award in 1977 for his service to the greater Alma community.
