Julius attended Alma College from 1924-1927 and was the first black student to attend Alma College. He was recruited by college officials to play on the football team, he won two Championships in 1926 and 1927, and was an All-State Selection at full back in 1927. Even though he was never able to finish his degree, he embraced hard work and started his own business in St. Louis, MI. He raised a family with his wife, Grace Farmer, and four children before passing away in 1983.
