Mary Douglas Burns was a four year letter winner for Alma College field hockey.
The 1985 graduate was a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection, and at the time of her graduation, was inside the Top ten in the MIAA in career assists, also leading in the Alma College career point totals when she departed Alma.
Douglas was twice crowned an MIAA champion as a part of the Scots teams that won the league in 1983 and 1984. In that span, the Scots compiled an 18-3-3 record, outscoring opponents 59-16.
Between 1981 and 1982, Douglas combined to contribute seven points.
In 1982, Alma improved on a 2-10 season from ‘81, posting a 7-5 record in MIAA play, outscoring conference foes 23-20.
In 1983, Douglas recorded 15 points coming off six goals and three assists. She was one of three Scots to place inside the top five in points and goals.
In 1984, the senior registered 22 points on eight goals and six assists, good for the third highest point total in the league that season.
In total, Douglas recorded 44 career points, and was a member of Alma teams that won 27 league games over four years.
