Tom Jewett '98 is being inducted into the Alma College Hall of Fame class of 2013 after an outstanding soccer career at the school. He was a three-time All-MIAA selection in 1995, 1996 and 1997 after being a honorable mention in freshman year of 1994.

In addition, Tom was NSCAA Honorable Mention in 1994, All-Region in 1995, All-Region second team in 1996 and All-Region first team after the 1997 season. Jewett was a team captain of the 1996 (2nd Place MIAA) and 1997 teams (MIAA Champions).

In 1997, his 12 total points was good for ninth in the league and for his career, he is 10th in school history with 11 assists. Twice during his career he earned MIAA Player of the Week honors - 1996 in week six and 1997 after week eight - for his stellar play.

"There were many great moments, but the best was during my senior year when we won at Hope College to capture the program?s first MIAA Championship," said Jewett. "Hope was the defending champion and a team in which we built an intense rivalry with during my first few years."

"Every game was competitive and the stakes were typically high. During my senior year, the MIAA Championship came down to the last in which we were able to win 4-3. It was the greatest game I was ever a part of and a moment in which our team finally accomplished our goal."

Since graduating from Alma College in 1998, he's worked for Allegis Group (Human Capital Management Leader) specializing in recruitment operational leadership. During his experience with Allegis, Tom has lived in Detroit, New York City, Toronto and is now back in Detroit.

A communication major with exercise and health science and business administration minors at Alma, Jewett is currently the global accounts director at Allegis. He is responsible for leading a team of 50 that are given the task of recruitment delivery for Fortune 500 companies. He credits his years at Alma in helping him becoming a good business leader.

"I learned many great lessons from my time as a student-athlete, but one that is more prevalent is being associated with a winning culture," said Jewett. "As I have progressed through my career, ensuring that I build teams with high character and team-first professionals has been critically important. By growing in an environment at Alma College in which these characteristics were followed has assisted me professionally."

"As I reflect on my experience as a student-athlete, I feel a great sense of pride and gratefulness associated with my experience at Alma College," said Jewett. "Many of my great friends were a result of experience in playing on those teams. Several of my best friends are fellow players and I often still speak with Coach Frey. These relationships are special and I am grateful to have them."

He is accompanied by his wife Nicole and his two children, Taylor (2) and Jackson (eight months).
