BRIGHTON, Mich. – The Alma College women's soccer program has given up just one goal in eight matches as the defense has been lights out all year long and the leader of that group, Mya Pofahl, was honored for the second straight week as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Pofahl, a senior goalie from Boyne City, Michigan, added another two complete game shutouts to her ledger courtesy of seven saves, with both matches she appeared in being 1-0 decisions on the road at Bluffton and Elmhurst.
 
Her five clean sheets are already tied with Paula Schwarz (2000) for the sixth-most in a single season for the Scots' program while her eight career goose eggs place her fourth all-time alongside Schwarz and Kelsey Postema.
 
The Boyne City High School alum leads the nation in shutouts (5), is seventh in goals against average (0.149), ninth regarding save percentage (96.6%), and top-25 in minutes played (606:01) while also ranking top-three in the MIAA for saves (28) as well as saves per match (4.00).
 
The still unbeaten Scots have just one contest in the next nine days, a trip to Anderson (Indiana) on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. prior to opening conference play on September 30.
