Beall Scores in Second Straight Match, Scots Fall at Albion

ALBION, Mich. – The Alma College women's soccer program gifted the Britons a 2-0 advantage before nearly crawling out of the hole with a second half flurry, but it was too little, too late as Albion took down the Scots, 2-1.

How It Happened:
Alma's offense was not in sync to begin the evening as the ladies were unable to accrue a corner nor a shot over the first 45 minutes with Albion's Chloe Salo striking the first blow in the 20th minute.

The second half was more kind to the Scots, outshooting the Britons 9-6 (5-4 in SOG) and taking one extra corner kick opportunity (2-1). Kelsi Green gave the Purple and Gold some breathing room with a goal from Brooklyn Zeleny at 61:50 whereas Ivy Beall dented the scoreboard with an unassisted strike in the 78th minute, but that was the end of the scoring.

Scots' Top Performers:
Beall found the back of the net for the second game in-a-row, a career first, putting her collegiate tally at six goals and 15 points in Maroon and Teal. The Sophomore singlehandedly provided the majority of the offensive production as she was responsible for five of the nine shots (55.6%) and three of the five SOGs (60%).

Mya Pofahl stopped two-thirds of the home XI's on-target attempts, making a quartet of saves.

Anna Waterstredt and Emily Ahearn each placed one kick on-frame, the former taking two shots overall, while Maddie Aten added a shot as well.

Next:
A trip to the MIAA Tournament and the sixth (final) seed most likely comes down to Saturday morning's home matchup with Adrian at 11 a.m. with the Bulldogs and Scots tied for that final spot heading into the final week of competition.
