BRIGHTON, Mich. – The Alma College women's soccer program has deployed a brick wall in the net so far and Mya Pofahl has been given her flowers in return as she was awarded MIAA Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Pofahl, a senior goalie from Boyne City, Michigan, has spent 467 of the Scots' 490 (95.3%) minutes between the pipes, including the no contest at Hiram, and has yielded just a single score in that span which came off a penalty kick.
 
The Boyne City High School alum was critical in the team's four straight shutouts to open the season, a first at Alma since 2011, racking up 21 saves and a 95.5% save percentage as her goals against average is a miniscule 0.21.
 
Three of those clean sheets came in complete game efforts and she has risen from tenth to seventh regarding the program's record book in the process, currently sitting at six.
 
The unbeaten ladies have a trio of road trips coming up in the next six days with stops at Bluffton on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.), Rockford on Saturday (1 p.m. ET), and Elmhurst on Sunday (4 p.m. ET).
