Football Receiving Votes in National Polls After Season Opener

Alma, MI – Alma College Football was in the receiving votes category of the latest edition of both the d3football.com preseason top 25 poll, and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) preseason top 25 poll. The Scots came in with 14 points in the D3FB poll, good for 32nd in the country, and ranked 34th in the nation in the AFCA poll, garnering 16 points. Alma was 30th in AFCA preseason poll, and 31st in the preseason d3football.com poll
 
The Scots are coming off of a 45-33 loss to then #19/19 UW-River Falls in their season opener. The Falcons have since jumped to 13th in the d3football.com poll, and 14th in AFCA poll.
 
North Central College topped the D3FB poll again with 618 points and 23 out of 25 possible first place votes. The Cardinals were followed by Mount Union, who received both first place votes not directed to NCC.

In the AFCA poll, North Central remained the #1 team in the nation. The Cardinals collected 1,299 points, and 51 first place votes. Similar to the D3FB poll, Mount Union was second with 1,249 points and one first place vote.

Along with #13/14 River Falls, Hope College was the other opponent on Alma's schedule to appear in the polls. The Flying Dutchmen ranked at #18 in the d3football.com poll, and #17 in the AFCA poll. Alma will see #18/17 Hope on September 27th in Holland, Michigan.

The Scots welcome Denison University to Bahlke Field on Saturday for Alma's 2025 home opener. The Big Red are 1-0, coming off of a 35-24 win over Allegheny last week.
