Box Score Waukesha, WI - Alma Women's Soccer took to the road for the first time on Saturday to take on the Pioneers of Carroll University. The Scots were defeated after opening their season on a 3 game unbeaten streak.
Alma was met by a tough home 11 who controlled possession from the get go and peppered the Alma net with shots and pressure. Alma conceded in the 7th minute on a rebound play by Carroll. At halftime, the score was 1-0. Despite effort in the second, Caroll would rattle off a pair of goals in 90 seconds to stretch their advantage to 3-0. Alma would answer nearly immediately in the form of Paige Kohler scoring from the right side with the assist going to Bryn Bishop. Carroll scored 2 more times in the last 30 minutes to close out the Scots with the final at 5-1.
Alma was outshot 19-7 in the game, with Carroll winning in the shots on goal battle 11-3. Allison Bush stopped 6 of 11 and picked up the loss for Alma bringing her record to 1-1-2 on the season. Paige Kohler picked up her 3rd goal of the season and Bryn Bishop tallied her first assist.
The Scots move to 1-1-2 on the year and will play on September 23th on the road at Otterbein
