Box Score Alma, MI - Alma Women's Soccer hosted the College of Wooster on Saturday, September 10th at Scotland Yard. Alma and Wooster drew 2-2 after 90 hard fought minutes.
Alma drew first blood early on. In the 11th minute, Lily Stephan sent a cross into the box, and Paige Kohler was able to head it home to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Wooster would equalize however, when Hallie Krzys got on the end of a loose ball that was floating near the goal line and pushed it across to tie the game at 1-1. Things were level at the half, with the shots at 6 apiece as well.
The Fighting Scots struck in the 61st minute on an odd play. Katie Schumacher struck a ball off of a Scots defender, and the ball flew up high into the air, coming down just under the crossbar to give Wooster a 2-1 lead. Alma would take their turn tying the game with Lily Stephan firing a shot off a pass from Paige Moore into the back of the net. Things would remain level at 2 until the final horn.
Overall, Wooster outshot Alma 19-10 on the day, outshooting the hosts 13-4 in the second. Allison Bush stopped 3 of 5 and picked up the tie bringing her to 1-0-2 on the season.
The Scots move to 1-0-2 on the year, and will have a week off before traveling to Carroll on Sunday, September 18th.
