Box Score HOLLAND, Mich. – The Alma College women's lacrosse team traveled to Hope College on Saturday, April 16. Alma fell to the Flying Dutchmen 21-11.
Alma found six goals to Hope's eight in the first quarter with two each from Emma Keith and Rileigh McGeorge and one each from Sam Peterson and Joanna Scorziello.
The second quarter was all Hope with seven goals for a halftime score of 15-6.
Alma added four goals in the third quarter with two from Peterson and one from Keith and Lauren Kenny while Hope only found one opening in the net, 16-10.
The Flying Dutch held the offensive edge through the remainder of the game with five goals in the fourth quarter and one from McGeorge assisted by Keith for a final score of 21-11.
Keith led the Scots in points with five off three goals and two assists. Keith also scored her 100th point as a Scot and now has 102. McGeorge and Peterson each added three goals to the board and Kirsten Browne had two caused turnovers. Goalie Alexis Gibbons had three saves in the net. Alma had 18 groundballs on the day.
Next, the Scots head to Trine University on Sunday, April 24 for their next competition.
