Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Alma College women's lacrosse team traveled to Franklin University on Thursday, March 3, and finished with a big win, 27-9. The Scots set two program records in the win, which pushed their record to 4-0.
Alma set a new program record for goals in a single game with 27. The last record was set in 2012 at 25; the Scots tied that record in their previous game, a 25-20 win over Montreat College on Feb. 25.
Kristen Browne set a program record for most draws in a single game with 12. The previous record goes back to 2012 and was set by Ashton Street, who, incidentally, after college, became Browne's lacrosse coach at Brighton (Mich.) High School. Browne also set a personal best of seven goals on the day.
Sam Peterson led the Scots with 11 goals and one assist, which were good for second place in the Scots' record book for points in a single game and goals in a single game. Browne followed behind with seven points.
Emma Keith added three goals and two assists.
Madison Chapin scored her first career goal against the Grizzlies and goalie
Alaina Frye had six saves in the net.
Next, Alma holds their first home game on Tuesday, March 15, against Beloit College.
