Box Score Alma, MI – Alma Football took to a rainy and cold pitch to host Trine University in MIAA play on Tuesday. Alma was defeated 5-0.
Alma was put behind early, after a shot clanged off the post in the 7th minute, and the Thunder slammed home the rebound. 11 minutes later a decently long shot found its way into the back of the net. At the break it was 2-0. Trine scored 3 more goals in the opening nine minutes of the second half to bring the score to 5-0 where it would stay put until full time.
Alma was outshot just 13-11, but it was the Thunder who were able to convert more opportunities. The game was not overly physical, with just 10 fouls called.
The Scots were led offensively by Lily Stephan, who lobbed 4 shots in the direction of the Thunder goal.
Alma will next be in action on Saturday against Saint Mary's. Before the game Alma will honor their seniors, with kickoff set for 4 PM.
