Box Score Holland, MI – Alma Women's Soccer was on the road on Wednesday to take on Hope College in MIAA play. The Scots were defeated 5-1.
Hope got on the goal sheet first with a strike from 30 yards out that snuck its way under the cross bar. That goal in the 18th minute was the lone tally of the first half. Out of the half, Alma struck first with Paige Moore jumping on a Flying Dutch mistake and scoring her 3rd goal of the season to level things at 1-1. However, things wouldn't remain tied for long. Hope scored just 30 seconds later to retake the lead, and potted 3 more goals in the next 11 minutes to put the game out of reach.
Alma was outshot 25-11, and 13-6 in shots on goal. The. Flying Dutch also led in corners by an 11-1 margin.
Allison Bush was solid in net despite the outcome, making 8 saves on 13 shots against.
Alma drops to 2-5-2 on the season, and will be in action on Saturday at Olivet.
