Scots Fall to LTU in Home Opener

Box Score

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Alma College women's soccer team opened their season on the road against Lawrence Tech University. In a fight to the finish, the Scots fell to LTU with a final score of 2-1. The team came out strong in the first half with impactful minutes for many of the players. The highlight of the first half was when Junior forward, Lily Stephen launched a shot from 40 yards out to tie 1-1 with the Blue Devils.

Head Coach Meghan Gorsuch is excited for the season and about how many of her athletes preformed. Gorsuch said, "Though it wasn't an ideal outcome, the more important aspect of tonight for us was watching the things we have been working on in training come to fruition. Our freshmen had an outstanding debut and our returners showed better than ever in both fitness and execution. A very exciting start for us to play against an athletic and talented team like LTU!"

The season opener for the Scots was a great end to the most successful preseason yet and kick off to what will hopefully be the most successful season yet!
