Wooster, OH - Alma College captured a 4-3 win on the road over The College of Wooster women's soccer team on Saturday.

It was a high intensity matchup that saw four lead changes as Alma's final two goals of the game stood the difference.

Alma (1-3) knotted the game at 3-3 in the 66th minute behind a header goal from Lexi Russell. Abigail Dawes with the assist; a cross from the wide area, perfectly placed in the 6-yard box for Russell to finish. Almost four minutes later Lily Stephan hit the game-winner on a free kick from about 30 yards deep that sailed out of the reach of Wooster keeper, Kyra Strief.

Wooster (2-3) had a relentless attack in the final 20 minutes where they took eight shots as Alma keeper Allison Bush made a number of highlight saves to secure the win.

Wooster took the early lead, scoring in the opening 8 minutes. Alma then connected on two goals, one in the 11th minute and another in the 36th minute.

Stephan assisted on both goals as Paige Stephens scored the first (her second of the season) and Meghan Pfile the second, giving Alma a 2-1 lead moving into halftime.

Wooster tied it 2-2 in the 58th minute and about seven minutes later, Wooster retook the lead for the second time in the match. This was certainly an exciting one for the fans and this was Alma's first victory in four contests.

"Wooster was a phenomenal match up for us and where we are at in our season. They had tremendous competitive drive, as did we, and we had a lot of fun out there with them. We were able to bag four outstanding goals and possess with patience, allowing for these moments to develop in dangerous areas. It feels good for us to walk away with a win on the road!
