Cincinnati, OH- The Alma College Women's Lacrosse team opened its season with a road victory over the Mount St. Joseph University Lions on Saturday (Feb. 20) by a final score of 17-11. The Scots led the entire game, taking a 10-5 lead into halftime and outscoring the Lions 7-6 in the second half.
Leading the Scots was sophomore Emma Keith with five goals and three groundballs. Freshman Sam Peterson scored four goals in her collegiate debut. Fellow freshman Rileigh McGeorge scored two goals as well as senior Alyssa Gall. The other multi goal scorer for Alma was freshman Lauren Kenny. Seven different players scored for the Scots all together. In net, senior Allie Ray made 10 saves.
Up next for the Scots is their home opener against Saint Mary's College (IN). The game will start at 4:00 pm on Monday (Feb. 22) at Bahlke Field.
