Box Score ALMA, Mich. — On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Alma College women's soccer team traveled to Adrian College to open the MIAA conference portion of their season. The Scots fell to the Bulldogs, 5-1.
Adrian started the contest off quick with four goals scored in the first half. Another goal was scored by the Bulldogs at the beginning of the second half. Alma's Paige Stephens found an opening on goal at the 60-minute mark, giving her four goals on the season. Goalie Allison Bush had five saves on Tuesday.
The Scots then competed over the weekend, dropping a 4-1 decision to Calvin University in their second conference match of the week. The Knights found the net 36 minutes into play but Alma's Lily Stephan responded just 15 seconds later with an unassisted goal from 45 yards out. With three minutes left in the half, Calvin scored to make it 2-1. The Knights posted two more goals in the second half to ensure their win. Keeper Nicole Tuzinowski had 11 saves on the day.
Alma takes on Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, Oct. 6.
