Women's soccer wraps up road schedule with shutout at Trine

Angola, Ind. - The Alma College women's soccer team wrapped up the road portion of its 2017 schedule on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon, defeating Trine University by a 2-0 margin.

Senior Whitnee Foote (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) led the Scots with a goal and an assist, scoring the first goal in the 75th minute and then setting up the insurance goal, which was scored just under three minutes later.

Senior Kelsey Postema (Marshall, Mich./Marshall) notched her third shutout of the season, making two saves as Alma outshot the Thunder by a 17-5 margin.

How It Happened

  • Whitnee Foote scored from in front of the net after taking a pass from Taylor LeMasters to break a scoreless tie in the 75th minute.
  • Foote set up Mia Pagliuco for her first career goal in the 78th minute to give Alma a 2-0 lead.

  • Alma has won three of its last four matches, and finished its road schedule with two straight wins.

Alma will close out the 2017 campaign on Monday, Oct. 30, hosting Albion College for a 3 p.m. match at Scotland Yard. The Scots will honor their senior class following the contest.
