Alma, Mich. - Senior Amanda Mladenovski (Shelby Township, Mich./Henry Ford II) scored with less than five minutes remaining in regulation to lift the Alma College women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Calvin College in a rain-soaked affair at Scotland Yard.

Mladenovski scored two of the three goals for the Scots (3-9-2 overall, 3-9-0 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association), while senior Whitnee Foote (Mt Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) netted the other as Alma defeated Calvin for the first time since the 2014 campaign, snapping a six-game winless streak against the Knights. 

Calvin (10-5-0, 7-4-0 MIAA) led, 2-1, in the 67th minute before Foote and Mladenovski scored for Alma. Senior Kelsey Postema (Marshall, Mich./Marshall) made four saves on six scoring attempts, while the Scots scored on all three shots against Amy Kliewer. 

How It Happened

• Amanda Mladenovski scored on a free kick from 35 yards out to give Alma a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.
• Calvin responded with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 advantage. Kali Mouw scored in front of the goal in the 42nd minute, then Emily VanVeldhuisen gave the Knights the lead in the 67th minute.
• Whitnee Foote tied the game in the 69th minute before Mladenovski scored the game-winning goal in the 86th.
