Box Score Alma, Mich. - Down two goals at halftime, the Alma College women's soccer team rallied to score twice in the second half before senior Macayla Greiner (Hart, Mich./Hart) broke a 2-2 tie in the 92nd minute, give Alma a 3-2 win over visiting Central College in extra time.
Greiner, who scored twice in the game, gave the Scots their first win of the season while posting her second career multi-goal game.
The visiting Dutch (0-1-0 overall), scored two goals in the 18th minute to take a 2-0 advantage before freshman Lexi Moyer (Suttons Bay, Mich./Traverse City West) got the Scots on the board, beating Central keeper Sydney Lunardi in the 60th minute with her first career goal to make the score 2-1. Moyer helped the Scots break onto the scoreboard after senior Magan Kalanik (Milford, Mich./Lakeland) was stopped on a penalty kick in the 50th minute.
Greiner provided the late-game drama, scoring with 16 seconds left to tie the game before adding the game-winner three minutes later.
Junior Kelsey Postema (Marshall, Mich./Marshall) made eight saves in net for Alma as the Scots outshot the Dutch by an 18-15 margin.
The Scots will take to the road for a pair of games, opening Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Albion College before traveling to Adrian College for a night game on Monday, Sept. 12.
