Box Score Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss at Kalamazoo College Saturday (Sept. 19) afternoon. With the loss, the Scots are now 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA. The Hornets (4-5 overall, 4-2 MIAA) picked up their fourth league win.
Alma scored in 16th minute to take a 1-0 lead when senior Kelly Wilson (Midland, Mich./Dow) scored off a feed from junior Macayla Greiner (Hart, Mich./Hart). Kalamazoo tied it up in the 32nd minute, then added goals in the 70th and 71st minutes to secure the victory.
The Hornets outshot the Scots by an 18-16 margin, while each team received five corner kick opportunities. Senior Allison Smith (Commerce Township, Mich./Walled Lake Northern) led Alma with four shots on goal.
The Scots return home on Wednesday, Sept. 23, to host Hope College. Kickoff will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Scotland Yard on the Alma College campus.
