Women's soccer falls in home opener, 1-0

Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team opened the home portion of its' 2015 schedule on Saturday (Sept. 12), falling to Albion by a 1-0 margin at Scotland Yard.

Albion netted the only goal of the match in the 55th minute when the Britons' Jenna Urso fired a shot from about 15 yards out that found its way past sophomore keeper Kelsey Postema (Marshall, Mich./Marshall). Postema made seven saves in the contest to tie a season high.

Albion outshot the Scots, 18-16, and weathered a flurry of opportunities late in the match. Seven differerent Alma players recorded a shot on goal.

With the loss, the Scots drop to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the MIAA. Albion improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA.

The Scots will return home on Monday, Sept. 14, to host the Adrian College Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. at Scotland Yard on the campus of Alma College.
