Box Score On a cold and cloudy February afternoon in Georgia, the Alma College Women's Lacrosse team continued their Spring Break trip with a game against host Berry College. The Scots got off to a slow start against the Vikings and a valiant comeback wasn't enough as they dropped a 15-11 decision.
The loss evened up the Scots at 1-1 on the season, while Berry is now also 1-1 in 2014-15.
The Scots had a tough start to the game but showed it's spunk by never letting up and eventually making it interesting in the second half.
"It was a tough loss today, but I thought dominated in the second half," said Alma Head Coach Christie Havrilla-Haines. "At half time, the score was 12-3 and we were much better in the second half. We cut it to four and that was the final margin of defeat at the end. We just need to make sure we start better."
In the first frame, Alma Fr. A Shelby Frazer (Holt/Holt) had two goals, while Sr. M Tracy Gallihugh (Lansing/Waverly) had the other. Overall, Frazer ended up with three tallies and Gallihugh had four to lead the Scots. In addition, Jr. A Ashton Street (Brighton/Brighton) and Fr. M Brianna Soriano (San Diego, CA/Serra) each contributed one goal in the defeat.
In net, So. GK Miranda Kruse (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) made five saves and faced 20 total shots on the afternoon.
The Scots play at Piedmont College (GA) on Thursday afternoon as their Spring Break trip continues. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
