Box Score On Sunday afternoon, the Scots Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to take on Baldwin-Wallace in a non-league match. Alma defeated the Yellow Jackets by a score of 15-2 to improve their record to 12-1 on the season. Baldwin-Wallace is now 3-4 in 2013 after the loss.
Alma scored quickly in the game as Fr. A Ashton Street (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) made it 1-0 at 24:23. The Yellow Jackets tied it at 1-1 just two minutes later but then the Scots scored the next four goals, the last being by So. M Tracy Gallihugh (Lansing, Mich./Waverly) with 7:42 remaining.
After another goal by B-W, Alma scored again and went into halftime with a 6-2 advantage.
The Scots scored three goals in the first four minutes of the second half en route to outscoring B-W 9-0 for the final 30 minutes. The dominating play by the visitors resulted in Alma closing out the 15-2 victory.
Street finished with five goals and an assist with six shots on goal, while Gallihugh had four goals on seven shots. Sr. A Christie Havrilla (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) also had four goals and So. M Sydney Bryce (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) added two tallies of her own.
Jr. GK Stephanie Herman (Bay City, Mich./All-Saints Central) had three saves in earning the win.
Alma will next play at Olivet College on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m.
