Box Score

On a cold and dreary Friday afternoon, the Scots Women's Lacrosse team opened up the 2013 home portion of their schedule with a game against Robert Morris University-Chicago. The Scots trailed early but came from behind to defeat the Eagles by a score of 10-9 at Bahlke Field. Alma is now 6-1 on the season while Robert Morris fell to 3-1.

"Today we came out slow in the first half and with us down by four at halftime, we knew we needed to wake up and play Alma lacrosse," said Scots Head Coach Laurie Jordan. "I told the girls that we needed to play together and keep our heads up and that is exactly what they did. Today proved that we are not just a team, but we are a family who works together and in this case wins together."

Robert Morris scored first eight minutes into the game before Alma tied it at 1-1 on a goal by So. A Addison Duffy (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser) at the 19:59 mark. The Eagles had the better of the chances the rest of the frame and led 7-3 after 30 minutes. Sr. A Christie Havrilla (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) and So. M Tracy Gallihugh (Lansing, Mich./Waverly) had the other two tallies for Alma in the first half.

The second half was a different story as the Scots scored six goals by six different players in the first 11 minutes of the frame to take a 9-7 lead with 19 minutes to go. Robert Morris scored at the 13:40 and 10:58 mark to notch the contest at 9-9.

The game-winning goal was then scored by Alma Fr. A Ashton Street (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) at 6:02 to give the home team the 10-9 victory.

The Scots will host Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday afternoon at Bahlke Field for Pink Day 2013.

Please note that the start time has been moved from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
