Alma Women's Lacrosse defeats Albion 25-15

On Wednesday, the Alma College women's lacrosse team held Senior Day 2012 to celebrate their inaugural season of the sport on the school's campus. On this joyous occasion, the Scots made it a perfect day by defeating Albion College by the score of 25-15, to finish their season with a record of 6-9.

"Today was a great day for our program and for the four student athletes that are moving on, leaving with a win is fantastic," said Alma Head Coach Laurie Jordan. "It is sad to see my first senior class go, but I am extremely proud of them. They are amazing young ladies and I am excited to see what their future holds."

The four seniors for the Scots were: Bianca Jones, Jessica Page, Holly Oemke and Trisha Reynolds.

The Scots led 10-3 after one half and then outscored the Britons by a margin of 15-12 in an offensive second half to earn the 25-15 victory. Jr. A Christie Havrilla (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) led the way with eight goals and an assist, whileSr. M Jessica Page (Alma, Mich./Alma) added five goals and a helper.

Jr. A Brittney Cole (Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) notched four goals and team-high four assists, and Fr. A Addison Duffy (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser) finished with four tallies and an assist. So. GK Stephanie Herman (Bay City, Mich./All-Saints) had 10 saves in the win.
