Box Score

On Friday afternoon, the Alma College Women's Lacrosse team earned the first win in the program's history, when they defeated host LaGrange (GA) by a score of 14-9. The Scots, in their inaugural season of women's lacrosse, concluded their southern trip with a 1-3 record.

"In the beginning of the game, we came out slow and found ourselves down by one at halftime," said Alma Head Coach Laurie Jordan. "But, we figured it out in the second half and were able to get control. The first win ever was awesome and absolutely amazing. As the clock ticked down in the final minute and we realized we were going to win, it was something. We all ran out on the field at the end and we still have smiles on our faces."

For the game, Havrilla finished with six goals, while Gallihugh had four tallies. In addition, Fr. M Sydney Bryce (Oak Lawn, Mich./Lake Orion) had two goals, including the first game-winning goal in school history, when she made the score 10-9 at the 8:19 mark.

The Scots continue action in their first season on Wednesday evening, when they travel to Olivet College to take on the Comets.
