Box Score The Women's Lacrosse team, winners of three matches in a row, took on host Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday evening and came out on the wrong end of a 19-4 match. With the defeat, the Scots are now 3-4 in their inaugural season, while the Vikings improved to 5-2 on the season.
It was a tough start for the Scots, as Augustana raced out to an early lead and took a 12-1 advantage into halftime. The second half scoring was also in the Vikings' favor by a margin of 7-3, but Alma had settled down and fought hard down the stretch.
Scoring goals for the Scots were Fr. M Tracy Gallihugh (Lansing, Mich./Waverly), who had two, while Jr. A Christie Havrilla (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) and Jr. M Mary Harwood (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron Northern) each notched one tally.
Alma is now off until March 24, when they will host Davenport University in their first-ever home match at Bahlke Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
