Womens Soccer ends with a tie to Trine after two overtimes

Box Score

The Alma College Women's Soccer team traveled to Trine University on Saturday and took on the Thunder in an MIAA contest. The two teams fought to a 0-0 draw in two overtimes, as Alma is now 5-1-1 in the MIAA and 9-1-1 overall, while Trine finishes the evening with a league record of 1-4-1 and 3-5-1 in 2011.

Due to Trine University's soccer field being under water, the Women's Soccer game was moved to 6:00 p.m. and was played on the school's turf football field.

For the game, Alma had 11 shots on goal, led by Sr. M Annette Stromberg (N. Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) and So. M/F Taryn Handyside (Montrose, Mich./Hill-McCloy), who each had three. Sr. GK Monica Witt (Clio, Mich./Clio) had four saves in the tie for the Scots.

Alma next plays on Tuesday at Albion College, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
