Box Score

On Tuesday evening, #15 DePauw University visited town to take on the Alma Women's Basketball team and were able to leave with a 84-58 triumph over the Scots. The loss dropped Alma to 1-9 on the 2010-11 season, while the Tigers improved to 7-2 heading into the holiday break.

"I have told the kids and the coaches that nobody in our program is content with our 1-9 start," said Alma Head Coach Keisha Brown. "However, each game we see the kids displaying things that will turn this around. We played the number fifteen team in the country today and we know where we want to be. As we go back into conference play next month, it is encouraging that we are seeing improvement in every game we play."

Alma came out in a spirited fashion and had a 9-6 lead five minutes into the game and had not trailed. However, the Tigers gained their first advantage a few minutes later, and took the lead for good at the 13:30 mark as Ellie Pearson hit a lay-up to put them up 13-11.

DePauw was able to use their overall experience and size to wear down the Scots and took a 41-24 lead into halftime. The Tigers used a 58% shooting average, including four of six from beyond the arc to forge their advantage.  In the second half, although the Scots fought valiantly, they just could not cut into the deficit, and the visitors from Indiana took home the 84-58 victory.
