ALMA TRAVELS TO DIVISION II SAGINAW VALLEY STATE ON FRIDAY AND DROPS 5-2 DECISION

The Alma Women's Soccer team continued its ambitious non-league schedule on Friday as the took Division II host Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw. The game Scots dropped a 5-2 decision, dropping them to 1-3 early in the 2009 season. The squad will play at Heidelberg on Sunday afternoon, before hosting ranked Washington University (MO) in the home-opener at Scotland Yard on Septembr 18.

"I am happy with the way our girls played today," said Alma Head Coach Jeff Hosler. "SVSU is a very good squad and I saw our team play a lot of good soccer this afternoon. We will keep plugging away and hanging together and I am confident we can have a lot of success moving forward.

 "The game against Washington University is the first of a string of  seven home matches for the Scots. Alma will not play on the road again until they travel Olivet College, to take on the MIAA rival Comets on October 6.
