Alma's Women's Soccer team defeated MIAA rival Olivet College 3-1 Saturday afternoon in Olivet. The victory improved the Scots' record to 4-1 in league play and 10-5 overall, with Alma next playing Tuesday, when they travel to play St. Mary's College in another MIAA tilt.

Olivet scored first when F Elizabeth Julian took a pass from Katie Koralewski and put it behind Alma GK Katie Weicksel (Northville, MI) at the 19:36 mark. The Scots tied the game when M/F Jessica Swan (Romeo, MI) scored on a goal assisted by F Tara Fitzsimmons (Marshall, MI) at 37:45. Just 2:11 later, Alma completed the first half scoring when M Becky Marton (Williamston, MI) scored on a pass from M Sarah Merritt (Lake Orion, MI) for a 2-1 halftime lead.

Fitzsimmons closed out the game's scoring when she tallied an unassisted goal at the 75:07 mark for a 3-1 final score and a Scots win. Olivet outshot Alma by a margin of 20-14, and the Scots were led by Fitzsimmons, Marton and Swan, each with three.
