WOMEN'S SOCCER: Scots defeat Heidelberg and Stay Unbeaten

Alma, Mi.- The Alma College Women's Soccer Team welcomed Heidelberg College to Scotland Yard and sent them home with a 2-0 defeat and improve to 2-0-1 on the year.

The Scots dominated the ball from minute one and wore down the grass on their attacking side all game. The Scots got on the board in the first period when freshman Jessica Swan (Romeo/Romeo) scored an unassisted goal of a corner kick rebound in the 25th minute.

Swan also got in on the other goal in the game when she found freshman Veronica Femminineo (Troy/Bishop Foley) with a beautiful cross who then found the back of the net in the 46th minute.

The Scots out shot Heidelberg 17-3 and freshman goalkeeper Alexandria Kirchner (Racine, Wis./Washington Park) and senior Ivyrose Hess (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Central) recorded their second co-shutout of the year.

The Scots next travel to Midland on Friday to take on Northwood University. The game is scheduled to start at 5 pm.
