Alma had some golden opportunities to put the game away, but the Kalamazoo Hornets wouldn't be denied.

Just before the Hornets game winning goal, the Scots' Elizabeth Daley (Lum) received a ball on the backside from Rachel Comfort (Eastpointe) and headed toward Kalalmazoo's goal. The Hornets' keeper challenged Daley's shot and cut off the angle. The shot went wide. Kalamazoo counter attacked immediately as Jill Weatherhead received a goal kick at midfield and beat the Scots's defense with her through pass to Tzenis, who slotted the ball past Pam McCarthy for the winning goal. 

Pam McCarthy collected only three saves for the day. The Scots' defense played with great intensity, holding the Hornets to only 6 shots. 

Alma drops their record to 2-6-1 (2-3-1 MIAA) and will have a week off before the team travels to Albion for next Saturday's game. Game time is set for noon.
