DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Making their yearly appearance in the sunshine state, the Alma College dance team returned to the Ocean Hall to defend their National Championship in Division III Jazz. The Scots have consecutively won the Jazz division since 2019 and after round one, hold the top spot with a score of 91.8857.
Alam holds a three-point lead over second-place Montclair State University, who scored a prelims score of 88.5429, challenging the Scots. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse holds third with a score of 86.0857, ahead of Central College who finished prelims with a score of 85.0857. Rounding out the top five is the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, scoring an 84.9429, the final team qualifying for finals. New York University, Nazareth University, and Washington University (MO) also competed in the division and finished sixth, seventh and eighth, in that order.
Team10 will head into finals competition holding the final performance time at 4:17 PM, ready to leave it all out on the floor in hopes of a seventh consecutive national championship in the division. The Scots can control their own destiny and look to continue to make history in Daytona.
