DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Looking to defend their national championship is Jazz Division III, the Alma College dance team hit the stage with the highest prelims score in the division, and in the final allotted time ready to claim another championship. Team10 did just that as they claimed their seventh consecutive National Dance Alliance national championship in Jazz, with a finals score 92.2286, two and a half points over their nearest competitor.
Montclair State University claimed the runner-up position with a finals score of 89.5143, finishing three points ahead of third-place University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, who ended with a score of 86.4286. Conference competitor for the Eagles in the WIAC, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh finished just behind in fourth, scoring a 86.3 in finals, completed by Central College rounding out the top five with an 85.3143.
Team10 will get one more opportunity to showcase their Jazz routine as they will now compete in the Grand National Champion competition between all the champions from the other Jazz divisions to see who takes home the best Jazz routine of the year. The Scots will be competing with the likes of Sam Houston State University, McLennan Community College, the University of Pikeville and more come Saturday.
