Overwatch One Game from Undefeated Season

Alma, MI - After a 3-4 finish in the fall semester, the Alma College Overwatch team looked ahead to the winter season to improve their record and push for a playoff spot.

Alma 3, Alfred State 2
The Scots would take on SUNY Alfred State in week one, which would end in the closest match so far this season. Alma struggled out of the gate, dropping the first match to ASC, before bouncing back to a shut out in game two. With the series tied, both teams turned up the intensity resulting in a rare tie in match three. Former BEL All-Team player, Eli Festerling took the series into his own hands, landing several key Kiriko cleanses, and leading the team into encounters with well timed ultimates. Alma would go on to win, resulting in a 3-2 Alma College victory.

Alma 3, Albion 0
In a surprise meet up with an MIAA foe, Alma would take on Albion College in week two of ECAC play. Senior, Robert Heemer would take over early in this series playing his signature Mauga and creating space and eliminations for his teammates. Junior DPS Player, Bruce Dehaan would take it from there, racking up all three play of the games and leading the Scots to a 3-0 victory over their MIAA foe.

Alma 3, Muskingum 0
Muskingum University would be next on the schedule for Alma College. Cole Putnam saw his first run of the season, immediately making an impact for the Scots. He led the way with 32 assists over just two games as Kiriko. Robert Heemer would cash in another solid performance resulting in zero deaths in game two and three of this series. Alma would roll ahead to 3-0 on the season.

Alma 3, Heidelberg 2
Two undefeated teams would clash in week four as Alma College took on Heidelberg University. The Scots started out slow, dropping the first two of five games before Killian Glover came in the game and energized the entire roster. Killian would take over the entire series racking up 68 assists in just three games played! Game four of the series, Logan Wenz dismantled the opposition totalling 17 eliminations on just one death. The Scots would complete the reverse sweep and remain undefeated heading into the mid-season Spring Break. 

Alma 3, RPI 0

Alma College Overwatch has displayed an impressive display of chemistry through the first half of their schedule and have certainly built on their Fall season. With just one game left, the Scots will look to clinch a top playoff spot.
