Football Ranked in Final National Polls of 2025 Season

Alma remained in the top 25 in both the D3football.com and AFCA polls

Alma, MI – Alma College Football remained in the national Top 25 in both major Division III polls on Monday, following the conclusion of the 2025 football season.

Alma appeared at No. 24 in the D3football.com Top 25 with 58 ranking points. The Scots had recently appeared at No. 23 prior to the playoffs, after spending the entire season in the receiving votes category. Alma also remained at No. 25 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, where they were ranked at prior to the postseason, earning 86 points after similarly hovering just outside the Top 25 throughout the year.

The Scots finished the postseason at 8–3 overall, with a perfect 7–0 record in MIAA play. Alma's 2025 résumé was built on a challenging schedule featuring several nationally recognized opponents. Alma opened the year against the newly crowned division III national champions in UW–River Falls (ranked 19th in both polls at the time, now the unanimous No. 1 in both polls) defeated MIAA rival and defending champion Hope College (then No. 15), routed a Calvin team receiving votes in the AFCA poll, and capped the regular season by upsetting Adrian (then ranked No. 24 by the AFCA and receiving votes from D3football.com). In the postseason, Alma earned a first round bye, before closing out their season at UW-Platteville, who finished 11th in the AFCA poll, and 10th in the D3football.com poll.

In the D3football.com national poll, the 2025 NCAA Division III national champion Wisconsin-River Falls claimed the No. 1 spot with 625 points and all 25 first-place votes. They were followed by runners-up North Central College (598) and Johns Hopkins (573).

The AFCA poll nearly mirrored the top of the rankings, with UWRF again the unanimous No. 1, earning 1,275 points and all 51 first-place votes. North Central ranked second with 1,224 points, while John Carroll came in at third with 1,118 points.

Within the MIAA landscape, rival Hope College landed at No. 17 in the D3football.com poll and No. 19 in the AFCA poll. Adrian remained in the receiving votes category in the AFCA rankings.

The Scots now shift their attention to a fresh start 2026.
