Midland, MI – Alma College Cross Country was in action on Saturday at the Northwood Invite. It was a solid day all around for the Scots, with the women coming 3
rd, and the men 4
th.
For the women,
Sophie Dech was the star, coming in 9
th overall in a time of 19:39. Dech was the highest DIII finisher at the meet.
Chloe Colton ran a 20:14 to take 15
th, and
Lauren Brawt's 20:27 was good for 20
th. Close behind was
Kaitriss DeGroft, who placed 22
nd with a 20:36, and
Helena Snyderin 26
th with a 20:49. Kennedi Wahmoff placed 29
th at 20:52, and rounding out the top seven for Alma was
Melanie Werner in 33
rd, with a time of 21:05.
For the men,
Nolan Woodman led the team for the second straight meet, finishing in 22:47 to claim 41
st place. He was followed by
Noah Murphy, who ran a 23:02 to take 46
th. Right behind was
Ethan Shroat in 47
th (23:07) and
Nico Di Ponio in 48
th (23:11). In 53
rd was
Benjamin Dickieson with a 23:29, and
Felix Ramirez ran half-a-second behind his teammate to take 54
th. Rounding out the top seven was
Jeremiah Thompson in 57
th with a 24:06.
Alma has a week off, before getting back to the course on the 19
th at the Lansing Invite.
