TECUMSEH, Mich. – Returning to the links on a hot Saturday afternoon was the Alma College men's golf team, rounding out round two of the Irish Hillis Invitational. Alma improved from day one by 17 shots, putting together a team score of 311 (+23), also climbing up the leader board and finishing fourth as a team. 

William Lightle stayed in the moment and steady with a day two score of 78 (+6) for a two-day total of 153 (+9) finishing tied for fifth place in the field. Jaden Ducharme came in with the Scots day two low score, firing a 73 (+1) for a tournament total of 158 (+14), good for a tie at 13th overall. Andrew Skellenger improved upon his first-round score with a 79 (+7), bringing his two-round total to 162 (+18), placing him in a tie for 18th. Also improving on day two was Josh Conney, firing an 81 (+9), improving by four shots, for a total of 166 (+22), placing him in 26th overall. Alex Bates rounded out the team scoring with another 85 (+13) for a two-day total of 170 (+26), finishing tied for 30th. Both Carter McCave and Easton Weder competed as individuals again on day two, while both improved scoring a 77 (+5) for McCave and a 73 (+1) for Weder in his second collegiate round. McCave finished 13th for the weekend, as Weder was just behind in 16th.

Zachary Koch of Spring Arbor University came away as the individual champion for the tournament with a two-day total of 148 (+4), finishing two shots ahead of Charlie Parker from Wittenberg University in second place. The College of Wooster came from behind to win the tournament as team champions with a two-day score of 616 (313-303).

Alma will now look to open conference play come Wednesday as they will travel to Marshall Country Club for the first jamboree of the season. The tournament hosted by Albion College is set for a 11:00 AM tee time.
