Shepherd, MI – Alma College Cross Country opened their 2025 season on Friday morning at the 40
th Annual Jeff Drenth Invitational, hosted by Central Michigan University at Shepherd High School. Alma ran well on both sides, with lifetime bests all around, as the women and men both finished in 8
th place on the day.
For the women, Sophia Dech was the lead Scot, finishing in 55
th place with a time of 19:55.
Chloe Colton finished 62
nd with a time of 20:11, and was followed by
Lauren Brawt with a 20:47 in 73
rd.
Melanie Werner ran a 21:04 to take 78
th, and the next Scot to cross the line was
Erica Slocum (80
th) in 21:13. Six seconds later,
Kaitriss DeGroft placed 81
st, and
Kennedi Wahmhoff ran a 21:28 to place 84
th. Rounding out the top seven was
Helena Snyder in 89
th, with a time of 21:37.
On the men's side,
Nolan Woodman ran a 16:59 to take the top honors for Alma in 62
nd.
Noah Murphy wasn't far behind in 66
th at 17:09.
Ethan Shroat was the next across the line in 17:24 at 70
th. Next up was
Nico Di Ponio, who placed 73
rd with a 17:30.
Felix Ramirez and Ben Dickieson finished in 77
th and 78
th with times of 17:43 and 17:48.
Jeremiah Thompson rounded out the top seven at 17:59 in 80
th.

th at the Northwood Invite.
