Grand Rapids, MI – Alma College Swimming and Diving took part in day two of the MIAA Championships on Thursday. Alma's women are 4
th after two days, while the men are in 5
th.
Alma's women opened the night with the 200 free relay. The Scots' A relay of
Megan Neeley,
Laney Voisinet,
Sofia Floros, and
Grace Ludema placed 4
th with a time of 1:39.05. The B relay of
Kylie Demarets,
Kylie Demarets,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Lily Smith took 11
th. Neeley went on to take 7
th in the 500 freestyle. Floros took 11
th in the event, and Madi Mendez placed 15
th. Ludema grabbed 9
th place in the 50 freestyle, while Voisinet took 16
th. Closing out the night, Neeley, Smith, Figlewicz, and Ludema took 4
th in the 400 medley relay. The team of Demarets, Mendez, Drewnicki, and
Megan Black took 11
th.
For Alma's men. The team of

Andrew Barrett,
Sam Couch, and
Owen Reed took 5
th in the 200 free relay. The grouping of
Ryan Fowler,
Max Nielsen,
Seth Stahl, and
Kyle Scheck placed 10
th.
Eli Mull took 9
th in the 500 freestyle, breaking his current record in the event with a time of 4:42.80, nearly a two second time drop at the top of the record board. Reed took 15
th in the event.
Brent Riehl took 7
th in the 50 freestyle. Couch took 13
th in the event, and Andrew Barret took 14
th. Closing the night, the team of Gray, Riehl, Nielsen, and Mull took 5
th in the 400 medley relay.
After two days, the women are locked in a battle with Kalamazoo. Alma sits 4
th with 158 points, with Kzoo behind at 155, and Olivet at 90. Looking up the standings, the Scots trail Albion (204 pts) Calvin (330 pts) and the leaders, Hope (436 pts).
Alma stands 5
th on the men's side with 140 points. They lead Olivet in 6
th with 5 points. The Scots are behind Albion (189 pts) Kalamazoo (193 pts) Hope (363 pts) and Calvin (396 pts).
