Kalamazoo, MI – Alma College Swimming and Diving was in action on Friday and Saturday at the Hornet Diving Invite, hosted by Kalamazoo College. Alma was 4
th on both the men's and women's sides.
For the men,
Cooper Couch took part in the one-meter. He scored a personal best 289.05 to qualify for the consolation finals. In the final, he bested his prelim score to take 10
th place with a score of 312.50.
On the women's side, Abigail Dumond set a three-meter personal best of 378.8 in prelims, qualifying for the championship final. The second time through saw Dumond improve her score to 382.40, placing her 5
th. In one-meter action, Dumond scored another 5
th place finish. The freshman scored a 387.65 in prelims, a personal best, which saw her through to the championship final. In the final, she scored a 395.85 to take 5th. The score marks her first NCAA Regional cut of the season, leaving her with one more cut to hit to qualify for postseason action.
Maddie McGuire smashed her previous personal best by 45 points, placing 16
th with a score of 236.90.
Alma is back in action on January 10
th, when they travel to Manchester for a dual.
