AUGUSTA, Mich. – Closing out their fall season on a Monday that finally felt like fall, the Alma College men's golf team took part in the Hornet Fall Invitational hosted by Kalamazoo College on October 20th. The Scots finished second at the tournament with a team score of 316 (+28) hosted at Stonehedge North.

Rounding out the fall competitions with the lowest score was Jaden Ducharme who finished fourth place overall with a six-over 78, four shots off the clubhouse lead. Just one shot behind was Alex Bates and Carter McCave, who both finished with 79's (+7), finishing in a tie for fifth place in the field. Another shot behind his teammates was Dominic Daversa, finishing with an 80 (+8) for his round, tying for eighth place for the day. William Lightle finished his round with an 85 (+13), finishing 16th overall, the last team scoring member for the Scots. 

Competing as Individuals, Easton Weder led the way, tying for eighth place 80 (+8) like fellow teammate Daversa. Josh Cooney was the next Scot finisher with a tournament score of 86 (+14), tying for 17th. Lukas Howard finished a couple shots behind with an 88 (+16), which placed him in 19th overall. Cayden Schultz placed 22nd with a 91 (+19) while Will Stone was one spot behind in 23rd with a 94 (+22). Cooper Couch finished his day with a 97 (+25), finishing in a tie for 24th overall. Ryan Dahl rounded out the Scots scorers with a round of 99 (+27), finishing 26th as an individual. 

Host Kalamazoo College came away as the team champions shooting a team score of 311 (+23), edging the Scots out by five shots. The Scots finished ahead of Cornerstone University by three shots for second place. Emiliano Alvarado Rescala was crowned the individual champions posting a two-over 74 to win by two-shots. 

Alma will now take the winter months to prepare for a spring slate of competitions that will be released in the near future.
